grandma renz’s custard

  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 2 T flour
  • 1 egg
  • dash of salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 t vanilla
  • 1 T butter

In a medium saucepan mix together sugar and flour, add egg, salt, and milk. Bring to a boil stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and butter. Stir until smooth.

Use in cream puffs with whipped cream.
